Your Meaningful Things
At Space A, we believe your home’s objects tell a unique story about who you are and your personal values.
By curating your space with purpose and authenticity, we help you build a home that supports your deepest values and enrichment to your life.

In today’s fast-paced world, it is easy to feel the cognitive chaos in all aspects of life.
We are constantly bombarded with ideas, objects, and distractions. We are endlessly busy, while also becoming used to mindless scrolling on screens - consuming infinite amounts of content that only registers at surface level. This often clouds our judgment and reduces our ability to find the red thread of what we need to feel the best version of ourselves.
We believe that the objects in your home tell powerful stories about who you are and what you value. Our surroundings are a physical manifestation of the values we hold and the aspirations we strive for. As humans, we naturally form strong attachments to the things around us. These attachments serve as reminders of special memories and emotions, creating a snapshot of our lives. They can be a mix of good and bad—too many things can feel overwhelming, while too few can leave a space feeling empty or devoid of personality.
In response, we guide our clients on a journey of discovery, helping them make thoughtful decisions that align with their true selves.
“We don’t believe in singular design trends. Instead, we believe in fostering a deep understanding of self and translating that into a home that is unique and meaningful. ”
Crafting a Thoughtful Design Process
At Space A, we always like go on a journey with our clients to ensure that every decision made is in tune with their true self. We start our design process with what our clients already have - whether it's the natural qualities of a space, existing furniture, artwork, or personal objects, we work to uncover the essence of what truly matters. Through this process, we sift through what is essential and what is simply excess or superfluous.
We utilize 3D visualizations to help clients fully envision each element of a design. Together, we layer the components of transformation—from finishes and lighting to furniture and décor. Personal items such as artwork, family portraits, or memorabilia are woven in to create a sense of continuity and meaning.
We catalog and analyse these objects in your life, creating detailed spreadsheets to determine which items to keep, restore, or repurpose. We delve deeply into the true meaning and significance of each piece, ensuring that every item contributes to the story you want to tell. We also provide guidance in letting go of objects that no longer serve a purpose, helping you create a space that genuinely reflects and supports your current values and needs.

We also encourage clients to choose new items with longevity in mind.
We ask:
“Will this piece age well? Can you imagine passing it down to future generations?”
Durable, natural materials like solid wood, stone, and ceramics are timeless, ensuring a well-balanced lifestyle that can continue for generations.
This process requires careful curation, balancing the existing with the new, holistically marrying the two in a harmonious aesthetic. After all, elements in our home become vessels for our memories - their features hold a spirit, their use-marks tell a story.
The design process is not always straightforward. There may be wrong turns along the way, but that is part of the journey. The best results are teased from a dialogue of true understanding between designer and client - a process that reveals the core of what is truly and wholly enough for them.
Enoughness
This philosophy chimes with the focus behind Melanie Rickey’s Enoughness movement. Defined by Melanie as “the state or condition of being enough,” it describes the feeling of contentment when we are in harmony with ourselves, shifting our relationship with ‘wanting’.
We worked with Melanie on her home in 2019 and we love her new podcast project - check it out HERE.
In the context of design, the concept of Enoughness is about creating spaces that reflect the best version of ourselves with the objects that truly satisfy our needs and make us feel whole.
Embracing the philosophy of Enoughness invites us to cultivate spaces that align with our deepest values and aspirations. By focusing on what genuinely fulfills us and enhances our sense of self, we can create environments that resonate with authenticity and purpose. This approach not only transforms our homes but also enriches our lives, helping us navigate a path toward true contentment and balance.
