Space A are looking for an exceptional freelance architectural draftsperson with broad technical expertise to help design and deliver beautiful home refurbishment projects.




We are looking for :

  • Excellent knowledge and ability in executing technical building details, at least 5 years of practical experience

  • Trained as an Architectural Technologist (CIAT) or Architect (RIBA Part II at least)

  • Experience in designing and drawing from concept design, planning drawings, tender documents, construction sets and on -site information

  • Practical site experience and intuition to adapt to find buildable design solutions

  • Broad knowledge and fascination in building details combining a range of materials, interest to learn and deepen knowledge further

  • A fascination with materials – how they fit together and an aptitude for creativity in detail design

  • A passion for sustainable solutions and innovation in materials and technologies

  • Efficient and competent in creating drawn information

  • Positive and openminded ‘can-do’ and collaborative attitude

  • Strong skills in Auto CAD, Sketchup and Excel

  • Broad knowledge on the UK Building Regulations, planning requirements and technical standards and how they apply to residential settings

  • Fluent un English – spoken and written

  • Someone with a cheerful ‘can do’ disposition – who comes to the table with solutions not problems and an open mind

  • A clear and thorough communicator, ability to work with different types of people

Ideal Skills and Software:

  • Accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawing – Autocad and Sketchup better but not essential

  • Adobe Creative Suite– ability to use indesign, photoshop and illustrator

  • Microsoft excel – efficient spreadsheet handling for scope of works and schedule works
