We worked with Mary Portas on the refurbishment and extension of her Grade II listed stucco home in Primrose Hill. Tackling statutory hurdles and the tricky building fabric we helped create a refuge for Mary and her family. With a palette of rich sapele, antique brass and glazed olive green the space forms a backdrop to a characterful collection of art, objects and furniture.
“We worked together on the rebirth of this house. Homes need to reflect who we are and where we are on our life journey. For me they need to feel like a part of our spirit and joy as humans.
I always told Amelia I wanted the basement to feel warm and natural. I wanted wood. I wanted to descend down into the space and feel cocooned in a haven where I could cook, chill and enjoy family time.
I can be my best self in this house. I can find soft corners for contemplation, inspirational walls of pattern & colour and indulgent Italian marble for a touch of luxury.”
